COVID-19: 10 CRPF men, 2 pregnant ladies among 127 test positive in J&K, tally reaches 6549 | KNO

149 more walk home, recovery rate 60.57 percent in UT

Srinagar, June 25 (KNO): The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir Thursday mounted to 6549 as 127 fresh cases tested positive for the deadly virus that include 10 CRPF men, a doctor, a soldier and two pregnant ladies. Officials told agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 127 new cases that were detected in J&K today, 71 were tested positive at SKIMS, 28 at CD hospital, 19 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals. Among 127 new cases, 113 belong to Kashmir division while as 14 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 5111 including 3010 recoveries and 80 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1438 including 957 recoveries and 11 deaths. They said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2492 including 2022 from Kashmir division and 470 from Jammu division. With 149 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 3967 which is 60.57 percent of the total cases. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 35 from Kulgam, 33 from Srinagar, 12 from Shopian, 15 from Baramulla, 9 from Kupwara, 3 from Bandipora and 6 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu division include 4 from Jammu, 3 each from Rajouri and Kuthua, 2 from Samba and one each from Doda and Reasi," Officials disclosed. Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 2059 samples tested at Virology Lab SKIMS, 71 were tested positive. Among 71 positive cases, 16 each from Shopian and Kulgam, 12 from Srinagar(including a doctor), 05 from Ganderbal, 04 from Bandipora, 03 each from Baramulla and Anantnag, one each from Ramban and Rajouri and 10 CRPF men from different battalions. Dr Reyaz Untoo, Nodal officer for Covid-19 at JVC Bemina said that out of 516 samples, 19 including 3 from Budgam and 16 from Srinagar were tested positive. Officials from CD hospital CD hospital said that out of 735 samples tested at CD 27 including 2 pregnant ladies, solider from BB Cant Srinagar and a policeman from DPL Baramulla were tested positive. As per officials figures, 744 positive cases including 11 deaths and 489 recoveries are from Kulgam, 785 including 22 deaths and 234 recoveries are from Srinagar, 686 including 479 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Shopian, 622 including 6 deaths and 456 recoveries are from Anantnag, 685 including 14 deaths and 347 recoveries are from Baramulla, 491 including 360 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kupwara, 283 including 238 recoveries and 01 death are from Bandipora, 386 including 168 recoveries and 04 death are from Pulwama, 347 including 180 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Budgam, 82 including 59 recoveries are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 322 including 247 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Jammu district, 217 including 152 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 213 including 151 recoveries are from Ramban, 206 including 119 recoveries are from Kathua, 134 including 65 recoveries from Samba, 118 including 91 recoveries and one death are from Poonch, 94 including 01 death and 37 recoveries are from Rajouri, 72 including 54 recoveries and 01 death are from Doda, 37 including 24 recoveries are from Reasi and 25 including 16 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 268,606 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 39,345 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2492 persons are in hospital isolation while 31 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 177,678 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,970 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 332,445 samples are available. Out of 332,445 the number of samples tested negative stands at 325,896 while as 6422 have been tested positive, among them 2492 are active and 3967 persons have recovered and 91 persons have died—(KNO)
